Students are encouraged to make use of the library/media center for independent research, individual study, quiet group work, or reading during study halls, or before or after the school day.  A photocopy machine is available for student use at a minimal cost per copy.

To get the most benefit from your library media center, remember:

1. After using a book, magazine, or other library materials, return it to the nearest book cart. The item will be returned to its proper location by a library media center staff.
2. Sign out articles needed and return them on time – others may be waiting to use them.
3. If what is needed cannot be found, ask the library media specialist or aid.
4. Sign out ALL materials at the circulation desk BEFORE leaving the library media center.
5. The library media center is primarily for quiet, individual study but group work is permitted if done quietly.
6. As you enter the library media center, sign in and leave your pass at the circulation desk. No student may enter without a pass. You may return to class or study hall by getting another pass from the library media center specialist or aid when your work is completed. NO passes will be issued to return during the last 10 minutes of a class period.
7. The computers located in the library media center are to be used for school related needs. Games, e-mails, etc. are prohibited.
8. The library media center staff reserves the right to limit a student’s use of the library media center during study hall(s). Remember it is a privilege to report to the library media center during study halls.
9. Any student may be required to clear inspection BEFORE leaving the school library media center.

Circulation:

Books from the general collection are circulated for two (2) weeks, with one (1) week renewal.  Overdue fines are $.10 per school day, to the cost of the item.  Students will be held responsible for the cost of lost or damaged books, or other materials.

All audiovisual materials, periodicals, pamphlets, reference books, and books on reserve may be checked out at the end of the school day for overnight use only.  The material MUST be returned BEFORE the start of the next school day.  Overdue fines for these materials are $.25 per school day, to the cost of the item.  Students will be held responsible for the cost of lost or damaged books, or other materials.

The library media center is open:

Monday - Friday	7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday	6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
