Ski/Snowboard Club
Advisor: Kimberly Nagy
Contact Info: knagy@ojrsd.net
The Ski and Snowboard Club is designed for students of all levels (beginner to advanced) to ski with friends after school! Each year, typically between January and March, we take 5 trips to Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Our coach buses leave OJR at 2:45 PM and return to the high school between 9:45- 10:00 PM. The club is a fun and safe way to get out and ski/snowboard! Lessons are available for all. It is highly recommended that students take a lesson if they are just learning to ride or if they want to advance their skills.
PARENT/STUDENT SQUARE
Ski and Snowboard Club will use PARENT SQUARE for all notifications and communications. EACH MEMBER OF THE CLUB MUST DOWNLOAD STUDENT SQUARE APP AND ENABLE NOTIFICATIONS. IMPORTANT UPDATES DURING EACH TRIP WILL BE SENT VIA PARENT/STUDENT SQUARE.

What to Bring
- Please make sure to bring your equipment to school on the day of the trip! BRING YOUR HELMET!!!
*We will now be putting all bags, skis, and boards in room 1104. 1104 is located across the hall from Mrs. Nagy. Those who drive may leave their equipment in their car as long as they can get it loaded on the bus by 2:30pm!
- Bring money for dinner, and possibly a locker
* Careful what you bring to the mountain and place in your bag. While most club members have never had an issue with stolen items, it may be wise to consider purchasing a locker or putting a lock on your bag. Equipment is expensive and it is always a good idea to only bring what you need and lock it up!
* All students are asked to store their items near the OJR chaperone table (Upper Part of Summit Lodge)
DON"T FORGET YOUR BLUE MOUNTAIN PASS!
Student Handbook Eligibility
**If a student is failing (<65%) two or more subjects, the student is ineligible to participate in ski/snowboard club and will not be able to participate until eligibility requirements are restored. **
In need of a tutor? Please see Mrs. Nagy for information. Arrangements can be made for after-school peer tutoring through the National Honor Society and through the World Language Honor Society.
